The Tri-M Music Honor Society is the international music honor society for middle/junior high and high school students. It is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements, reward them for their accomplishments and service activities, and to inspire other students to excel at music and leadership.
Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade may apply. Students may apply mid-year or at the end of the year. To be inducted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society, students must…
- Be in at least one music ensemble for at least 1 trimester
- Be in good academic standing (2.5 GPA or higher)
- Have good lesson and ensemble attendance (90% or higher)
- Obtain at least one teacher recommendation that gives music staff a better idea of your character, leadership, service
Students who qualify will be inducted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society in a special ceremony. After induction, members will attend monthly meetings to discuss important music related topics and plan service opportunities. 8th grade members will receive a special cord to wear with their cap and gown at graduation!
